FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Electricity was restored throughout much of the Piedmont on Sunday after thousands across North Carolina were left without power from Thursday’s storms.
Duke Energy officials said they had around 2,000 people across the state working to restore power, including workers in Forsyth County repairing power lines and poles.
Electricity was turned on for thousands three days after the massive storms.
Crews from the Midwest helped to restore power as people in Pfafftown repaired their front yards, clearing away debris as they wait.
The next step for many families is restocking on food they lost and hiring tree trimmers to help with the clean-up.
