DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a person of interest in an alleged homicide that occurred at 303 Christine Lane.

Deputies responded to a welfare check and discovered the body of 29-year-old Allison Middaugh lying on the floor.

The sheriff’s office says that the initial check came after friends told deputies that she didn’t show up for work Wednesday.

Ron Stanley, Middaugh’s neighbor, was walking his dog Wednesday when he saw deputies at her house.

“We are not used to this kind of thing going on. It definitely a new one out here for me,” he mentioned.

Residents along with Stanley that live in the Kennedy Farms neighborhood say they were shocked when they found out the news of her death.

“I know she was just a neighbor and a friend, but it has really been a hard day for me. Honestly, I thought she was young enough to be my daughter, that’s how full of life she was,” Stanley said. “It was just pretty quiet her living up there by herself.”

Officials began an investigation into the incident and have started to interview people who knew Middaugh.

“If someone was involved in this I would like them to be found and justice to be served. You know that way it will give her family some type of closure and also help with the peace of mind for the rest of us in the neighborhood,” said Stanley.

Sheriff David Grice said there have been no arrest warrants issued and the investigation is ongoing.
