THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A 55-year-old Thomasville man has died from injuries he sustained in a crash on National Highway Monday.

Perry Lee Bartlett died from his injuries Tuesday.

Emergency personnel responded to National Highway at Pleasant Grove Church Road just before 4 p.m. in reference to a wreck involving a scooter.

A preliminary investigation by the Thomasville Police Department Traffic Safety Unit indicates that Bartlett didn’t yield to traffic on National Highway as he was turning from Pleasant Grove Church Road.

As he turned, Bartlett hit the side of a 2008 Hummer.

Bartlett was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical by AirCare.

The investigation is ongoing and police are awaiting Bartlett’s toxicology report to determine whether alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

The driver of the Hummer was not injured and no charges are expected.
