Thomasville man arrested in pair of armed robberies

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A Thomasville man has been arrested in connection with a pair of armed robberies.

According to police, 25-year-old Dupree Dishawn Jenkins was identified as a suspect after detectives reviewed surveillance videos.  He was arrested Monday after officers searched his home on Sheppard Street and recovered a gun linking him to the robberies.

Jenkins is accused of robbing the Cielito Lindo and Dos Torros Meat Market stores, which are both located on National Highway.  Police say the robbery at Cielito Lindo occurred on June 13, while the robbery at Dos Torros happened on June 18.

The suspect is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Additional charges are pending, police said.

He is being held in the Davidson County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
