RALEIGH, N.C. — A registered sex offender was arrested at the North Carolina State Fair on Saturday night, the third one in the past week.
Bobby Joe Snyder, 37, of Wendell, has been charged with being a sex offender on property where children are present, according to the North Carolina Court System.
Snyder originally registered as a sex offender after a 2012 out-of-state conviction involving a crime that happened in 2006, according to online records. He was 28 and the victim was 6.
The suspect is the third sex offender arrested at or near the Fairgrounds in the past week.
Tyrone Szabo, 64, was arrested after posing as a ride inspector in the children’s area of the fair on Tuesday. He was convicted on multiple counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in 2006.
Then, 38-year-old Matthew Allen Kenning was arrested for flying a drone outside the State Fairgrounds. He was convicted in 2003 of a sex crime involving a 15-year-old.
Registered sex offenders are forbidden from being in the premises of children and that includes places like schools and state fairs.
