RURAL HALL, N.C. — The wife of a man killed in a six-vehicle wreck on U.S. 52 last month has died, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Felicia Hickman of Mount Airy was the wife of Jesse Hickman, who was killed in the Oct. 30 wreck. Felicia Hickman was listed in critical condition earlier this week, but Dudley Witt, an attorney representing the family, said she died early Friday.
Also killed in the wreck was Jeremy Crymes, 9, from Minooka, Ill.
The crash happened in a construction zone near the Westinghouse Road exit where traffic was merging into one lane. A tractor-trailer driven by Jerome Stanley Redford Jr. of Winston-Salem plowed into the rear of the Crymes’ Honda Odyssey, setting off a chain reaction wreck.
Eight people were injured.
Earlier this week, a spokeswoman for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center said that Jeremy’s parents, Sheri and Kevin Crymes, and his siblings, Hayden Crymes and Olivia Crymes, had all been treated and released from the hospital.
Lt. Jeff Gordon of the N.C. Highway Patrol said in an email Monday that the investigation is in its final stages. Investigators will consult with the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office on whether charges will be filed.
