AVERY COUNTY, N.C. – At least one part of North Carolina saw snow on Sunday.
Snow was on the ground in Avery County on the western side of the state, according to an image shared on WSOC’s Twitter page.
The Beech Mountain Resort’s live weather cam also showed snow on Sunday. Beech Mountain is in Avery and Watauga counties.
There’s no snow in the Triad as clouds and showers keep the area’s Sunday highs in the mid-40s. Another wave of rain will move in on Tuesday.
The Triad’s first arctic cold front of the season will move by on Thursday. There’s 20 percent chance for a shower as the front moves by with highs in the low-50s.
Thursday will also be a breezy day and the cold winds will continue to blow on Friday with Friday afternoon highs in the upper-30s to lower-40s.
