SAN ANTONIO — A Texas police officer was fired after an internal investigation deemed he tried to feed a homeless man a sandwich with feces inside it.

KENS reports 5-year police veteran Matthew Luckhurst bragged to fellow officers about putting feces inside a sandwich, placing it inside a styrofoam box and sitting it next to a sleeping homeless man. The incident occurred in May and was reported in July.

“This was a vile and disgusting act that violates our guiding principles of “treating all with integrity, compassion, fairness and respect’,” said San Antonio Police Chief McManus. “The fact that his fellow officers were so disgusted with his actions that they reported him to Internal Affairs demonstrates that this type of behavior will never be tolerated.”

Officials have attempted to locate the homeless man, but have not been able to find him.
