Texas mother accused of putting child in oven

GLEN ROSE, Texas — A 2-year-old in Texas is being treated for second and third-degree burns after police say her mother placed her in an oven.

Tasha Hatcher, 35, was arrested Thursday and charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury, according to FOX4.

Deputies with the Somervell County Sheriff’s Office did not elaborate on why Hatcher allegedly put the child in the oven.

Family members told FOX4 that the 2-year-old has burns across 60 percent of her body.

A spokesperson for Child Protective Services confirmed that the agency has taken custody of the child.

Hatcher’s bond was set at $300,000.
