IRVINE, Calif. — Taco Bell announced Monday that you can now pre-order its new, “highly anticipated” menu item — the catch — you won’t know what it is until the fast food chain’s 30-second spot during Super Bowl 50.
Yes, you have to order the secret menu item before you know what it actually is.

“With respect to our fans and -lovers everywhere, we knew they wouldn’t want to wait to get their hands on
,” said Marisa Thalberg, Chief Marketing Officer for Taco Bell Corp. “That’s why we’re inviting them to be among the first to try it a full two days before everyone else, by placing a special pre-order now. There’s just one thing: it’s a ‘blind’ pre-order… requiring just a small act of faith (not knowing what it is until you pick it up) to be at the very forefront of this impending phenomenon.”
That’s right, the California-based fast food chain even redacted some of the information from the press release to keep the new item a secret.
The release said:
“This is the first time in Taco Bell history that a
and
are coming together – and it’s happening on February 8.”
All pre-ordered items can be picked up between 2 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 6, a full day before the rest of the world knows what the secret menu item will be.
The secret menu item is $2.99 and each customer can pre-order up to five.
