SUV runs red light, collides with Winston-Salem school bus

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman was cited after police say she ran a red light and collided with a school bus early Wednesday morning in Winston-Salem.

The collision happened at the intersection of West Clemmonsville Road and Ebert Road around 6:51 a.m.

There were 26 children on board the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school bus at the time of the accident, but no one was injured.

Police say the #472 school bus was headed south on West Clemmonsville Road when it was hit by a Kia SUV being driven by Angela Leigh Douthit.

Douthit was cited for the stop light violation. She was not injured in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
