Suspect sought in 2 Lexington armed robberies

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Officers with the Lexington Police Department are investigating two armed robberies they say may be connected.

The first robbery took place Thursday just before 3 a.m. at the Waffle House located 1720 Cotton Grove Road in Lexington.

A second robbery happened at 11:54 p.m. at the Speedway Gas Station located at 537 North Main Street, which is about five miles from where the first robbery occurred.

In both robberies, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money before fleeing the scene on foot.

At this point, officers said the robberies seem to be connected.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lexington Police at (336) 243-3302 or Crime Stoppers at (336) 243-2400. Crime Stoppers can pay up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and felony conviction.
