Suspect sought after man dies in Winston-Salem theater parking lot in custody

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A suspect sought in connection to the murder of 22-year-old Tremon Rahquis Pittman has turned herself in, according to Winston-Salem police.

India Nicole Lindsay, 18, turned herself in at the Forsyth County Detention Facility, police said Monday evening. She is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and first-degree murder.

An arrest warrant for the same crimes was issued for 18-year-old Harold Hairston in mid-October.

Police said Pittman was shot shortly before 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Brandemere Apartment Complex in Winston-Salem. Then, he was taken to the Carmike 10 movie theater parking lot at 3640 Reynolda Road where he later died.

Lindsay was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond allowed. She is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 3.
