WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police arrested a man Saturday who seriously injured himself in a chase from officers after his alleged involvement in a pharmacy robbery, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
Officers served warrants Saturday against James Matthew Greer, 31, of 989 Loflin Hill Road, in Trinity, as he was released from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, according to police.
On Jan. 29, as police chased suspects in a pharmacy robbery, Greer jumped from a bridge over Salem Lake onto the ground below, causing serious injuries, according to authorities.
Winston-Salem officers responded at 4:02 a.m. Jan. 29 to an armed robbery call at the Walgreens pharmacy at 2125 Cloverdale Ave.
Two men entered the store and went to the pharmacy area. One, armed with a handgun, jumped the counter and took pharmaceuticals and cash. The second man stood in front of pharmacy counter as a lookout and ordered the store manager to the floor.
