HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man was arrested in connection with an armed robbery of Target in High Point, according to police.

Officers arrested Nigel Moore, 39, following a traffic stop on Eastchester Drive shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.

The suspect is believed to be connected to an armed robbery at Target, located at 1050 Mall Loop Road, on Monday evening.

Officers responded to the robbery at Target around 6:58 p.m., but the suspect had fled the area in a red Honda CRV.

A short time later, the CRV was spotted on Eastchester Drive and a traffic stop was conducted.

As Moore was taken into custody, officers noticed a possible explosive device in the vehicle and the area was cleared and traffic re-routed.

Greensboro Bomb Squad responded and the device was rendered safe by a robot.

Traffic returned to normal a few hours later.

Moore was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is in the Guilford County Jail under no bond.
