Student robbed at gunpoint at school bus stop in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A juvenile student was robbed at gunpoint at a bus stop Tuesday morning, according to police.

A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools spokesman said the student was waiting at a bus stop near the intersection of Ogburn Avenue and Ontario Street. The victim was approached by the suspect around 7:20 a.m., according to police.

The victim said the suspect asked to use a cell phone. The suspect then pointed a handgun at the victim, took the phone and fled the scene.

The victim caught the school bus and reported the incident after he arrived at school.

Police provided an incomplete description of the suspect.
