A stretch of U.S. 421/Bus. 40 will be closed this weekend for construction.
Between the split with Interstate 40 and the N.C. 66 exit, the closure will be in effect from Nov. 15 at 10 p.m. to Nov. 18 at 5 a.m.
The North Carolina department of transportation is recommending that motorists use N.C. 66 and I-40 as a detours.
The closure is happening to allow for median clearing and to install the new girders for the Macy Grove Road bridge over U.S. 421/Bus. 40.
