Storms again knock out power to parts of the Triad; reports of trees down

People in parts of the Piedmont Triad are once again dealing with power outages Thursday as storms roll through.

According to the Duke Energy outage map, as of 6 a.m. Friday morning, the following counties have more than 1,000 outages:

  • Forsyth – 1,812

This comes just a day after storms knocked out power to thousands around the Triad and caused significant damage.

On Thursday, there were also reports of trees down at the following locations:

  • Darrow Road and Walkertown-Guthrie Road, Forsyth County
  • 5800 block of Walnut Cove Road, Forsyth County
  • 7000 block of Walnut Cove Road, Forsyth County
  • Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, Greensboro
  • West Florida Street and Highland Avenue, Greensboro

Overnight, the showers and storms will taper off and skies will be partly cloudy.
