Stoneville Elementary locked down briefly, school resumes after suspect caught

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Stoneville Elementary School was locked down briefly Thursday morning, but school has resumed to normal.

A school spokesperson says law enforcement was concerned about a suspect with a weapon in the area who they thought may be headed to the school.

The school was secured and the suspect was apprehended.

There is no further information at this time.

Notification was sent to parents and classes resumed to normal.
