ELON, N.C. — Two men were arrested after police said they found stolen Elon University championship rings while searching their mobile home for a drug investigation.

Kionne Ivin McLaughlin, 24, and Scott Russell Beatty, 25, were charged Tuesday after authorities executed a search warrant at 660 Manning Ave., according to Elon police.

Police said two Elon baseball championship rings were found, along with other items reported stolen from a string of break-ins in April.

Police said the search cleared up several open investigations in Elon. The suspects are both affiliated with the “Crips” street gang, according to police.

Investigators said they also found marijuana and evidence that the suspects were manufacturing marijuana. Police said the search came after a six-month drug investigation.

Both suspects face various charges including felony possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana. Both were placed in the Alamance County Jail under $250,000 secured bonds and have court planned for Jan. 8.
