Sleeping UNC student wakes up to man in room

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Authorities said a sleeping student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill awoke to an unknown man in her dorm room.

WTVD-TV reported that the student told police the man entered her Lewis Residence Hall room around 2:40 a.m. Friday.

The student said when she woke up, the suspect quickly ran off. She said he did not appear to have a weapon. No injuries were reported.

A complete description of the suspect was not provided. The burglary prompted the university to issue an alert.
