GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two North Carolina A&T University students shot and killed Sunday morning were innocent bystanders to a fight that broke out during a party, police said.
“We don’t have anything indicating the two students were involved in the altercation,” Greensboro Police Cpl. M.D. Matthews said. “They were two kids being college kids and it’s very sad.”
A Greensboro Police news release named the victims at 19-year-old Alisia Dieudonne of Homewood Illinois and 21-year-old Ahmad Campbell of Kitrell, N.C.
Matthews said officers responded at 2:11 a.m. Sunday to a reported disturbance at 911 Circle Drive in Greensboro. Before arriving at the off-campus residence officers learned the call had been upgraded to a potential shooting.
