Silver Alert cancelled for man reported missing in Winston-Salem

Update: The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has cancelled the Silver Alert for Jamaal Phillip Dawson.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Silver Alert has been issued for a man reported missing in Winston-Salem.

People are asked to be on the lookout for Jamaal Phillip Dawson, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Dawson’s mother said she has not seen her son in about two to three months. Officers have checked the local homeless shelters and hospitals but have not yet find him.

Dawson is described as a 38-year-old black male, about 5’11” and 125 pounds. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants and sneakers that are black, white and red. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Dawson has previously been known to walk around in the area of North Patterson Avenue and Northwest Boulevard.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information can call Winston-Salem police at (336) 727-2800.
