NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Police are investigating after shots were fired inside a dorm room at Tennessee State University, according to WKRN.

Boyd Hall was placed on lockdown around 2 p.m. after witnesses said shots were fired in a room on the seventh floor.

Witnesses also said something was dropped from the dorm window and caught by a person waiting outside. It is unclear what was dropped.

Police stopped the suspect’s vehicle, which was occupied by three people, including the person who caught what was dropped from the window.

One person was taken into custody after marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting.
