Shots fired into Winston-Salem apartment building, woman injured

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police are investigating after shots were fired into an apartment building Tuesday night.

Officers responded at about 9 p.m. Tuesday to 710 Ferrell Ct. Apt. 5 on a report of a firearm being discharged into an occupied dwelling.

Upon arrival, officers determined that two rounds entered the second-floor apartment through the window. One of the projectiles ricocheted and struck an occupant in the house on the hand. She was treated by EMS at the scene.

The suspect was seen in a black Chevy Impala that was parked outside the apartment. After the shooting, the suspect was seen leaving the complex. The vehicle does not have hubcaps and one of the tires appeared to be a spare doughnut.
