Shots fired into 3 Burlington homes overnight

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Shots were fired into three Burlington homes Wednesday night.

Officers with the Burlington Police Department first responded to the area of Foster Street and Lunsford Drive around 7:30 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of shots being fired in the area.

According to a release, officers discovered that a home on Foster Street had been struck by the gunfire. Two teens were inside the home when the shots were fired, but no one was injured.

Witnesses told police they saw multiple men in some type of altercation on Foster Street and then heard shots being fired.

Several hours after receiving the first reports of gunfire, police say another victim came forward after discovering that their home had been struck. No one was home when the incident occurred.

Officers said in a release that evidence collected from the scene indicates that multiple calibers of weapons were used.

Police received a third report of shots being fired into a home around 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived they discovered a home on North Anthony Street had been shot into. The home was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.
