Standoff over after suspect barricaded in High Point home

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The standoff is over after a suspect barricaded themself, police report.

At 10:15 a.m., officers responded after a 911 call.

Police say the suspect was barricaded in a home on the 2500 block of Triangle Lake Road.

“This is the High Point Police Department,” officers said over a megaphone. “Put down your weapon, and come out the front door.”

It is unclear what led to the standoff.

Triangle Lake Montessori Elementary School went into lockdown, according to Guilford County Schools.
