GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting reported near the campus of UNC-Greensboro that left one man injured. Police said the victim was a 21-year-old man who was shot at Campus Crossing Apartments, located at 708 S. Chapman St., around 8:30 on Sunday night. The victim first tried to get to the hospital in a private car, then was picked up by an ambulance on Spring Garden Street . He was taken to Moses Cone Hospital with what could be life-threatening injuries and had to undergo surgery, according to authorities. Officers will not confirm if the victim is a student at UNCG or not. UNCG police tweeted a description of the suspect just after the shooting. Police are still investigating. Details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released.
