HIGH POINT, N.C. — Several residents within a mile radius of High Point Regional were victims of home break-ins last Tuesday.
“When I got home they already been and gone,” said 75-year old veteran and widower Johnnie Major. While undergoing his dialysis treatment Major discovered thieves stole his TV, a rifle and his late wife’s jewelry. “That’s the only thing I would like to get back.”
“They came in the front and back doors of homes,” said Donna Peele, a writer who works from home. Her neighbor’s home was broken into while she worked. “I never heard anything.”
Peele is working to start a neighborhood watch to keep a closer eye on people who don’t live in the neighborhood where generations of many families have called home. “We’re watching.”
If you know anything about the break-ins give High Point police a call.
