GREENSBORO, N.C. — The group of 23 people who will help find UNCG’s next chancellor includes seven alumni, five university trustees, five professors and a former Greensboro city manager, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
In its first meeting Tuesday, the UNCG chancellor search committee picked a search firm and got its marching orders from UNC system President Tom Ross.
“This is a great place in a great community, and it’s a great opportunity,” Ross told the committee. “It will attract great candidates.”
The group is charged with finding a successor to Linda Brady, who will retire July 31 after seven years as UNCG’s leader.
Ross said the committee should look for candidates who respect UNCG’s historical mission of teaching, research and service.
