UNION, S.C. — A Union woman is recovering after deputies said a couple assaulted her and let their dog attack her, even while the man was holding her down, according to WHNS.
The victim stopped by her father’s house where the couple was staying on Monday about 3 a.m.
Deputies said Donnie Todd, 58, punched her in the face through the screen door then his wife, 51-year-old Tammy Todd, hit her in the face.
At that time, the dog began to bite her and at one point, Donnie Todd was holding her down, according to the report.
When asked what happened, the Todds were quiet then Donnie Todd said he heard someone come inside the house while they were sleeping, according to the report. Tammy Todd had blood on her arms and hand, when asked, deputies said she told them she had fallen and hurt her nose.
According to the report, the victim’s father heard the commotion and Donnie Todd punched him in the face too, but he did not want to press charges. His daughter had cuts on her neck and leg along with a busted lip, deputies said. They said she was taken to the hospital for treatment and the dog was taken to animal control.
The Todds were arrested and charged with second-degree assault and battery.
