ROCK HILL, S.C. — A high school assistant principal in South Carolina is facing charges for criminal sexual conduct, according to WSOC.

Andrew Williams, the assistant principal of Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, is charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct, criminal sexual conduct with a minor and unlawful conduct toward a child.

Police told WSOC the case involves a 16-year-old student at the school. According to Rock Hill police, the student reported the alleged incidents to a school resource officer last week, but officers say the first incident happened in May 2014.

On Tuesday, principal James Blake notified parents of the allegations in a phone message.

“On April 20, a female student being restrained by our school’s resource officer yelled accusations of an employee’s criminal behavior toward her,” Blake said in the message.

That led to an investigation and Williams’ arrest.

Williams is on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
