Say goodbye to the Facebook real-time Ticker

Are you tired of seeing every detail of your friends in the Facebook Ticker on the side of your news feed? Apparently, you’re not alone.

In the News Feed redesign announced on Thursday, Facebook eliminated the Ticker, TechCrunch is reporting.

The Ticker was a real-time feed that launched in 2011 that shows what your friends are up to on Facebook.

The “creeper feed,” as it was often called, was not popular with most users. Facebook will reuse this space on the news feed for a menu that will open up news feeds, photos, music and more.

Replacing the Ticker will be the All Friends feed, a quieter real-time feed that lets you choose to view what your friends are doing. The new feed, however, cuts out the small “creeper” updates on your friends.
