SALISBURY, N.C. — A man accused of sexual abusing an 11-year-old girl and a dog was arrested in Rowan County, deputies said Thursday.

WSOC reported that Matthew Darrell Curtner, 29, of Salisbury, was charged after admitting to a detective at his home Wednesday that he sexually molested the girl for several months.

He also allegedly said he violated a female pit bull-Chow mix regularly and admitted to other sex offenses committed over a 20 year period.

Curtner was charged with three counts of first degree sex offense of a child, bestiality and cruelty to an animal by torture.

Deputies said more charges are expected and the investigation is ongoing. Specific details on the allegations were not provided.

Curtner’s arrest reportedly comes after the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Social Services began investigating the molestation of the juvenile girl.

He received a $1 million bond and has court Friday.

Medical exams are reportedly planned for other children in the home.
