Rockingham Co. deputies seek church theft suspect

STOKESDALE, N.C. – Rockingham County deputies are looking for a Stokesdale man suspected of breaking into a local church.

Deputies are searching for Jonathan Perdue, 24, of 319 Sunrise Acres Drive, who is suspected of breaking into Gideon Grove United Methodist Church on May 23.

Police report that Perdue broke into the church and stole a church-shaped bank containing $165 in coins.  

Perdue is charged with breaking and entering into a place of worship and larceny.

No other details regarding the investigation have been released.
