Reynolds Tobacco art auction takes place in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.’s 7,000-piece collection of art, books, antiques and collectables will be auctioned off this weekend in Winston-Salem.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, 209 Spruce St. A $5 donation is requested.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that the auction will benefit the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.

The items will reportedly range in price from $10 to $3,000 and include statues, oil paintings, ceramics and grandfather clocks. Officials said the collection represents the company offices around the world.
