Reynolds American CEO gets 52 percent raise after Lorillard deal

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Susan Cameron, chief executive and president of Reynolds American Inc., received a significant fiscal 2015 compensation boost after the successful completion of the company’s $29.25 billion megadeal for Lorillard Inc.

Reynolds disclosed in a preliminary proxy filing Friday that Cameron received a 52.4 percent jump in salary to $1.38 million.

Cameron returned to the company in May 2014, in large part to guide Reynolds through the Lorillard deal to acquire top-selling menthol brand Newport. She was paid $904,111 for seven months of work for fiscal 2014.

In 2015, Cameron received nonequity incentive-plan compensation of $3.33 million and total compensation of $13.45 million, up 25.1 percent. The manufacturer disclosed much of Cameron’s planned compensation increase for 2015 last May.
