HIGH POINT, N.C. — The owner of Shanty’s Records is reportedly moving to High Point from North Myrtle Beach to expand the record label.

The High Point Enterprise reported that David Wade was born and raised in High Point and said he wants to bring back a sense of home to his label.

“When I was growing up everybody knew everybody,” he said, according to the paper. “All the schools worked together, we all partied together and it doesn’t have that comfort feel anymore. I want that feeling to come back.”

The record label specializes in blues, old school R&B, and boogie, beach and shag music, according to its website.
