ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Randolph County Planning Board has approved the county’s request to build a regional landfill off Henley County Road in Asheboro after two days of discussion.
The Greensboro News & Record reported that there are nearly two dozen conditions with the approval.
The county now has to go through several reviews and studies with the State Department of Environment and Natural Resources before construction can begin.
Officials said they want more public input. In the end, commissioners at the Department of Environment could halt construction.
