RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Ramseur man is in custody accused of multiple drug violations.

Zomar O’Bryan Cheek, 30, of Ramseur, is charged with eight counts of trafficking opium, seven counts of possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, four counts of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance, one count of simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit, along with Asheboro Police Department Vice Narcotics Unit and Ramseur Police Department, concluded an investigation involving a residence located in the 300 block of East Ridge Street in Ramseur.

During the investigation, officers seized 65 dosage units of oxycodone, 41 dosage units of hydrocodone, 35 dosage units of hydromorphone and 16 dosage units of oxycontin. Durg paraphernalia and $7,363 were also seized.

As a result of the investigation, Cheek was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $7.5 million secured bond.
