Pro Football Hall exec Pete Elliot dies

AKRON, OHIO — Pete Elliott, the longest-tenured executive director in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has died, according to the Washington Post.

He was 86.

He served as the museum’s firector from 1979-1996.

Elliot was also head football coach at Illinois from 1960-1966.

He led Illinois to the 1964 Rose Bowl.
