Pro cycling race coming to Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Cycling Classic, a new professional biking event that will include several races, will be held in downtown Winston-Salem this summer.

The event will be held the weekend of June 15 and 16.

Race times on Saturday, June 15 are 8 a.m. for the Gran Fondo casual ride and 5:30 p.m. to begin the three Criterium Races.

Sunday, June 16 will feature a men’s and women’s Pro Circuit race around the city starting at noon.

There will be a total of five competitive races with a prize purse of $33,000.

The races will be delay broadcasted on national television.  The network and broadcast date have not been announced.
