EDMOND, Okla. — Police have arrested the grandmother and great-aunt of a 4-year-old boy after he arrived at his Cross Timbers Elementary School reeking of marijuana.

According to KWTV, police were called to the school on Friday after children in the boy’s Pre-K class noticed something was wrong with him.

They told teachers, who said the boy’s eyes didn’t look normal, he was acting lethargic and he reeked of marijuana.

The boy’s grandmother and great-aunt were called to the school and questioned. Police discovered the boy had spent the previous night with his grandmother, Sandra Martinez, 53.

Both the grandmother and the great-aunt, Peggy Pierman, 52, admitted they smoked marijuana around the boy before dropping him off at his afternoon class.

Both women were taken to the Edmond jail and booked on complaints of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

KWTV reported that police also contacted DHS. The child was released to his mother because police say she was not involved in the incident.
