Police: Woman’s boyfriend fought off man with knife in Gaston Co.

STANLEY, N.C. — Police in Stanley have arrested a man accused of pulling out a knife and demanding a woman’s car in a gas station parking lot.

WSOC reported that officers were called to a BP gas station on NC Highway 27 South around 9:30 p.m. Sunday to find two men fighting.

Police said Michael Greene, 44, had pulled a knife on a woman trying to get into her car, demanding the vehicle.

Investigators said the woman’s boyfriend was in the passenger seat and fought the suspect off, detaining him until authorities arrived.

Greene was reportedly charged with attempted armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer and intoxicated and disruptive.
