GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police on Tuesday asked the public for information in the Christmas Eve murder of a Greensboro College security officer.

Christopher Brian Mason, 28, was found shot to death outside his home at 300 Charles St. shortly after midnight.

Mason, who was recently hired as a part-time security officer at Greensboro College, was scheduled to begin his shift about ten minutes before his body was discovered.

Police said officers went to his home for a welfare check after a co-worker called to report that he hadn’t showed up.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crimestoppers at (336) 373-1000. A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of whoever is responsible.
