Police investigating Winston-Salem’s first homicide of 2019

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Police are investigating a shooting in Winston-Salem, the city’s first homicide of 2019.

Police were called to North Jackson Avenue and NE 22nd Street at about 8:15 p.m. Monday.

One person is dead. No one is in custody. Police have not released the name of the victim or details surrounding the shooting.
