Police: Man struck, killed by train in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after an Amtrak passenger train struck and killed a man in Concord.

Concord police say the crash happened at around 5:40 p.m. Friday. Investigators say that a man was trying to cross the tracks when he was struck.

The man’s name has not been released.

Amtrak says the train traveling from Raleigh to Charlotte was carrying more than 100 passengers at the time of the crash. Amtrak says no passengers or crew members were injured.
