Police look to ID man who robbed Burlington motel with knife

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a Burlington hotel with a knife on Wednesday evening.

The robbery was reported shortly after 11:15 p.m. at the Econo Lodge at 2133 Hanford Road.

Police say the suspect in the above surveillance photos entered the business, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, after which the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

The clerk was not harmed.

The suspect is described as a white male with a dark complexion and dark, close-cut hair who stood between 5’8″ and 5’10” tall and weighed between 180 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants at the time of the robbery. He also had a “light growth of facial hair,” police said.
