Police look for man accused of robbing Family Dollar

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Winston-Salem police said they’re looking for a man accused of robbing a Family Dollar store at gunpoint on Saturday night.

The suspect is accused of entering 1311 N. Patterson Ave. around 9:30 p.m., approaching the cashier and opening his jacket to show a handgun.

Police said he told the cashier to leave the register open, took an unknown amount of cash and fled the area toward Ivy Avenue. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s wearing a black and orange ball cap, a jacket, black with grey inner sleeves, possibly a North Face jacket, dreadlocked hear and cargo pants.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information can call Winston-Salem police at 727-2800.
