WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Police say a suspect is in custody following a investigation of a reported kidnapping and sexual assault on Tuesday.
Police have arrested and charged, Howard Wesley Page, 34, with first-degree sex offense, second-degree kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, the victim was seated in her vehicle, having lunch, in the parking lot of Lowes Foods, located at 200 Summit Square Boulevard, when she was approached by the Page.
Yielding a knife, Page demanded the victim to move to the passenger seat. Page then drove the victim’s vehicle to a secluded dirt road northeast of the shopping center.
Police report Page forced the victim to perform a sexual act and then robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of money.
Page then drove the victim’s vehicle back to the parking lot, where he fled the scene on foot. There were no reported injuries during this incident.
The suspect is described as black male, between the ages 20-30, 5’6”-5’8” foot-tall, average build with dreadlocks. The suspect wore a red cap, red doo- rag, red long sleeve athletic shirt, red shorts and brown sunglasses.
The investigation is ongoing.
